A coffee table +plus

The name “Mindboggling” came to Mike when he was meditating, on the table.

The theme of this beautiful coffee table is wine, which is also reflected by the choice of Purple Heart, with its natural rich purple hue.

The many features inside will delight anyone who loves and appreciates aged expensive wines.

The unique layout makes use of precious space cleverly and efficiently.

The drawers have hand made dovetails and velvet-lined bottoms, and there are lots of shelves spaces. Six custom made wineglass holders of yellow cedar burl, matching coasters and corkscrew, two bottle stoppers with burl tops, and a fancy wine bottle rack made from black ebony.

Mike, did not make any compromises and this is evidenced, by the superb workmanship, with attention given to every detail.

Throughout the table rare burls and exotic veneers and solid woods are used liberally.

Each tower features; two built in battery operated power smart LED lights, which come on when you open the door.

Light is then reflected by the surround mirrors putting a beautiful glow on Yellow Cedar Burl interior.

Hidden Handles on the doors are Mikes own invention.

"I am pleased with the way they work, since this is my first prototype. One light touch on the bottom and the handle flips open at the same time revealing a lock. (I figured a wine cabinet should be lockable.) And of course there has to be a secret stash." -Mike Wolos

This table has three concealed compartments. (One to show off, one for  your spouse and one for yourself.)

Those thick huge slabs of maple burl on top of the table are divided by gaps filled with clear polyester casting resin, giving it a 3D appearance. The wide solid black ebony border with its slight level gives a lovely luxurious touch to it.

Even though the gracefully flowing bevel lines of the table are somewhat interrupted by the design cuts, separating the top from the towers, it portrays a sense of continuity and harmony.

Here is a rare combination of a well thought out, purposeful and functional piece of art.

The beautiful, unique, no nonsense design puts it in a class by itself.

A truly one of a kind example of functional art.

The whole table is made from laminated Baltic Birch Plywood, high quality, multi-layered plywood.

Each tower is covered with Purple Hear Veneer and sits on a black painted base, which supports the top.

(Or does the top hold up the base?)

The base is fitted with four solid brass castors.

Dimensions are 46 X 22 inches on the top and a height of 19 inches.

For surface protection Mike used an automotive type clear coat far superior to lacquer, which was hand polished to a brilliant glass finish.
